Free agent Rasheed Wallace has reached an agreement with the Boston Celtics, according to two newspapers.

Wallace's agent Bill Strickland told the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe on Sunday that the forward, who spent the last six seasons with the Detroit Pistons, had asked him to call off meetings with the Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks.

Wallace, 34, won an NBA championship in 2004 with the Pistons.

He joins a veteran-filled team in Boston with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

Wallace averaged 12 points and 7.4 rebounds a game last season. In 14 NBA seasons he has averaged 15 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

He was selected fourth overall in the 1995 NBA draft.
